Details On Damian Priest Re-Signing With WWE, With Unique Twist
WWE

Now that we know he’s sticking around, we have details on Damian Priest re-signing with WWE, and with a unique twist to those contract negotiations.

2024 has seen it’s fair share of Superstar contract news, and we are not even halfway done. We knew coming into this year that there were a lot of unsettled contracts. Plus, it was an interesting time for WWE as well. The company had just been sold and now become a part of TKO, and had negotiated new TV deals for RAW, SmackDown and NXT. With a lot of things in flux, many expiring contracts were left alone for longer than in years past. We saw several big names re-up, including Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre. One who wasn’t necessarily due yet got done as well, when Cody Rhodes inked a new extension. Perhaps lost in that shuffle? The man with the big title on RAW, Damian Priest.

The deal is done

WWE

Priest signed his new deal back in February, prior to his long-awaited and long-planned cash-in at WrestleMania 40. That makes sense. I would not expect WWE to make a massive title change to someone who didn’t have a long time left on their contract. However, according to Fightful, getting the deal done came down to the wire. It was said that his expiring contract had maybe a couple weeks left on it before the new one was taken care of. The delays were not a matter of if WWE wanted him around. Per the report, the deal was always wanted. It seems it is another case of delays due to the busy end of 2023 for paperwork and such.

There was a unique twist to his contract, it should be noted. Priest has full control over his entrance music, which recently got tweaked. Per the report, it has been well received. While some in WWE aren’t thrilled with their Def Rebel themes, however Damian Priest’s music came to be, it has gone over well. So, thoughts on Damian Priest re-signing with WWE but with a unique twist?
