Several Chicago Blackhawks prospects are expected to compete in the 2024 World Juniors. Preliminary rosters are coming to light, and the Blackhawks are already well-represented. Four Hawks prospects made Team USA's preliminary roster, and two more are among Slovakia's group : goalie Adam Gajan and forward Martin Misiak.
The Blackhawks selected Gajan in the second round (No. 35 overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft. In his second season with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL, the 6-foot-2 netminder is 13-4-1 with a .911 save percentage and 2.99 goals-against average.
Like Gajan, Misiak was a Blackhawks' second-round pick (No. 55 overall) in the 2023 NHL Draft. Misiak made the jump from the USHL to the OHL this season, and he's off to a decent start with 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists) in 26 games with the Erie Otters.
The 2024 World Juniors will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden from Dec. 26, 2023 - Jan. 5, 2024. Slovakia and Team USA are set to play on New Year's Eve, and it's shaping up to be a Blackhawks-infused Group B preliminary round game to close out 2023.
